Friday Food

So, here are a few shots I took with my new camera, you can probably tell it's a lot better quality than my other camera! It's a Canon EOS Rebel T3 by the way.

Anyway, on to the food, in our area we have a pretty well know pizza place called Zachary's Pizza and they have really good deep dish pizza. So my boyfriend and I decided to make our own! So I hope you enjoy this food post, and the new and improved photo quality!!!!

Quick Update!

Hey everyone!

Sorry for the absence! It was my birthday last monday, and I got an amazing camera!!!!! I have to clean up my computer and get rid of stuff off of my hard drive so I can start blogging again! I've been having troubles with my computer and storage (it's not letting me do anything like upload photos or using photoshop!), so my boyfriend got me an external hard drive so I can free up some space!

Since I have a new camera I am so excited to start blogging again, having a high quality camera will make it so much more fun! I also will be able to make better youtube videos! I'm thinking of making a whole other youtube channel to start fresh and have quality videos! What do you guys think?

Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great start to their Spring season! And I can't wait to start blogging again!

If you'd like to see pictures from my birthday you can go HERE to my mom's blog to see!

XOXO,
Caitlin

Kitty Brooch and Recent Things

So, I've made another brooch for my Etsy shop! This is the first time using paper clay (which is what it is made of) I was using this sort of as a practice, before doing another pretty exciting project, but it actually turned out really cute! I hope you guys think so too! I hand painted all of the little details, and put a felt backing with a sewn on little pin.

Also lately, I've been working on a bunch of projects at once, I'm making a new header for my sister's blog, a custom portrait, and a secret project that I will reveal on here soon! It's so cute and I'm really excited about it!! I'll give you a hint, paper clay is involved!!

On my free time, I've been doing pretty lazy things...but today in the mail I got my guilty pleasure magazine (I don't always like mainstream magazines, but for some reason, I like this one!), and my favorite product ever, Moroccan Oil!!!!! I ran out a few days ago, so I was panicking that it wouldn't get here soon enough!! haha!

Also, I forgot to do a post about my previous nail art, but if you follow me on instagram, you may have seen that I had cute little kitties on my nails! I've obviously been cat obsessed recently! But I changed them again to these colors below, I thought theses colors looked interesting together. I've also been wearing my birthstone ring a lot lately, maybe because it's getting close to my birthday!?

Makeup Art Inspiration: John William Waterhouse

I was really excited to do this makeup art inspiration this week because I chose one of my favorite paintings! I love all of John William Waterhouse's paintings, but this one I especially love, I even have a framed print of it in my room. The colors are so beautiful, and of course the focus is all about the mermaid, and who doesn't love mermaids?

For this makeup look, I took some of the grayish blues, mossy greens, silver from her scales, and some goldish color that I picked up from the rocks and her hair. I hope you enjoy this look!

Makeup Inspired by Art

Hello everyone! I'm so excited to share a new idea I'm going to be doing on my blog! As you guys know I love art and am an "artist" myself, but I also love makeup! So, I've decided to combine them and do a new segment for my blog, I'm aiming to do it once a week!

I'm going to be doing makeup looks inspired and based on pieces of art! Anything from a painting, to a sculpture, and more! For my first attempt I picked a painting by Edgar Degas, he has done so many beautiful ballerina paintings, with gorgeous colors, so I picked this one below, called "L'etoile" The colors in the painting are so beautiful and warm!

From the painting I chose, burnt orange colors, browns, yellow, light pink, shades of whites, and deep purple. Tell me where you can spot all of these colors! The two products below are an Illamasqua eyeshadow in the color "Yes!" and a M.A.C. lipstick in the color "Dark Deeds" All of the other colors I used are from my e.l.f. and sephora palettes.

Below I took a few pictures of how I used them in my makeup. I plan to take better pictures of these looks in the future. This first look was sort of practice! But I hope you guys like this and find it interesting!

For the lips, the "Dark Deed" lipstick is not coming off as dark in this picture, than it does in real life. I also put some of the shimmery orange shadow on the center of my lips. If you looks closely at the man in the suit in the painting he is wearing a very dark shade and then there is a hint of orange lightly layered onto the darker color.
