The first day of the week is never fun, and I usually don't put a lot of effort into my outfits on early school days, but I'm trying to more now! I'm tired of wearing boring jeans and hoodies, it's just not really me so I'm making a late New Years resolution to wear better outfits no matter what!!

More Changes

Hey guys! Don't freak out, but I am changing the look of my blog again! I know. I'm super indecisive as you've probably realized over the huge amounts of different layouts I've had on my blog! Anyway, it's under constriction I don't want to keep my header image but I'm liking the black and white background!
So don't fret it will look better soon, I promise! I was just tired of the starkness of my blog, it's just not me, and the picture of me in the header was too summery and again too stark! So since it's the beginning of the year I thought it was time for a change! Also for my hair! If you guys follow me on Tumblr, you probably know I cut my hair and well, here is the result! It feels sooooo much better now that there is no damage!!

Recently Bought Goodies

So, lately I've been having troubles with foundation and decided to go all out and buy some fancy stuff so my skin won't break out and look bad! And I ended up getting Laura Mercier foundation primer and foundation and so far I like it! The color is perfect and the primer keeps it in place!
I also got a finishing powder (translucent) and I love it! And to top it off gel liner and my first M.A.C. brush ever!!!! I'm pretty happy with all of it so far, and it's good to start the year with a fresh "flawless" face right? ;)

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Years! Just to warn you there are quite a few pictures in this post! Also I feel really grateful for all of my presents and can't believe I'm so lucky to have people who care about me so much!
I wasn't expecting to be given so much this year and I honestly feel a little guilty about it, but I want to thank everyone for the love and gifts they have given me this year!
This Christmas was a little sad because my sister wasn't here, and it didn't feel the same but we still had a fun quiet Christmas!

Lovesac Slippers

I was recently sent LoveSac slippers to do a review, and am so happy they came in time for this cozy weather, and holiday season! They are very nice, soft, and comfortable! They are a little roomy (I got it in a size M(7-8) and I'm a size 8 so, if you like your slippers nice and snug I'd go a size down especially if you are a size 7. But they are fine if you wear them with thick socks!

Cyrous' 24th Birthday!!!

On Saturday, we celebrated Cyrous' 24th birthday! I can't believe I met him when he was 20(almost 21) It's so crazy how fast time goes by! So we spent the day at my house and he opened some presents, and I finished up making his birthday cake!
My mom made dinner and we had Cyrous' parents over too! It was a lot of fun, and a very yummy dinner! I hope Cyrous had a great birthday, and I can't wait to celebrate more with him!

I got him a beer making kit! I think he'll have a lot of fun with that!

And my parents got him a belt and funny socks! Cyrous' parents got him 2 very nice gift certificates too!!

And here is the carrot cake I made, it's a little uneven because of the baking pans I used, but oh well! The frosting had cream cheese, white chocolate, butter, and sour cream....sounds a little weird but it is amazing!

Today we finally put up our Christmas tree and decorations!! I honestly feel like I was just taking out Christmas decorations!!! It's crazy! But I really love this time of the year so I wanted to share with you some of our Christmas decorations, so enjoy!

Another Cat Dress

So, I guess it's safe to say I like cats. I've already shown you this dress, probably a few times because I love it. It's a sort of cozy corduroy material that's perfect for the cold weather that's starting up around here!
Anyway, here's a few photo booth shots(because I'm lazy) of my cat dress and knee high socks :D

I don't mean to brag, but look at my thigh muscle below O_O I guess doing the elliptical really does work! HHAHAA it actually looks a little creepy if you look at it too long!

So here is my face of the day, it's a very neutral, simple look that's good for everyday, and could also be good for weddings because of the light natural colors.

Below are the products I used.

Left to right:
~Covergirl concealer in "buff beige"

~High Beam highlighter from Benefit
~Maybelline one by one mascara

Zombie Pin-up Girl

Just a little drawing I did this week. I've just been hanging around being lazy in this new cold, wet weather! This weekend Cyrous and I made a cozy fall dinner, watched movies and Curb Your Enthusiasm, had dinner on Saturday with my parents, and watched more movies, and tonight I'm going to Cyrous' grandparents house for dinner!
It was a nice start to the fall and winter seasons! I hope everyone had a lovely weekend, what did you do?!

Halloween Party!

On friday I went to my friend's Halloween party and had so much fun!!! As you can see I went as a day of the dead skull, I think it turned out pretty well! So here are some pictures from the night! I should also mention that some of these pictures were taken by my friend's room mate (Miranda), I want to make sure she gets photo credits because they're really nice pictures :)

Before everyone got there I helped decorate and I did my friend Vanessa's makeup, she was a chola hahha

This is the best picture of me and Cyrous, he decided to be a zombie so I did his makeup too haha, this picture is pretty creepy right? Oh, I also made his torn up and bloody shirt!

This is my cute little friend Phoebe as Cleopatra, I also did her eye makeup! You can see Cyrous' costume better to the right of her hehe

So there you go! I had a lot of fun and I hope everyone has a fun and safe Halloween as well :D

New Coat

The other day my mom and I went to a local hospice shop, which used to be my favorite in high school because no one went there and it was right next to my school, so I would walk there and find really cool stuff! But then people started catching on and there was never anything good in there when I would check. But the other day I drove by and saw some really great stuff in the window, so we went the next day!!
They were having a half off deal on all vintage clothing!!! I found this coat which I'm guessing is from the 50's and my mom said my grandma may have had one similar. Also, I can't find one like this anywhere online so they must be more rare maybe? Anyway, it's in perfect condition and fits me perfectly and it was about $17 after the half off!! So it was a great deal and I can't wait to wear it this winter!!!

Also, I have these cute earrings that my grandpa sent me last Halloween, that I didn't get around to wearing! But I'm definitely going to wear them this time, aren't they cute?!

Vintage Tattoo Girl

Happy Birthday Mom!!!!

On the 4th was my mom's birthday, I'm sorry for posting this so late, but better late than never right?! So anyway, during the day it was pretty casual and we hung out and had cupcakes and opened presents...but my dad and I had a surprise for my mom for dinner!
Every year we go to her favorite restaurant, Chez Panisse, well this year she didn't think we were going there! So we told her we were going somewhere nice for dinner and told her to close her eyes in the car, and when she got there she opened her eyes and was so surprised!!!! I'm glad it was a surprise and that we got to still carry on her birthday tradition!

Feeling Like Fall

So, I'm finally back from the wedding I mentioned in my last post. It was a lot of fun, and I'll do a post about it soon!!! Yesterday was my mom's birthday, so I'll also be dong a post about that too, just so you guys know what's going on next!
When I got back I had a sudden urge to cut my bangs....so here are the results! I think I did it pretty well! Also sorry these pictures are not fantastic, I just wanted to take a few quick pictures of my first Fall outfit! It has been pretty chilly and raining here so I decided to wear these weird pants that look like a skirt, I think they're a good color for Fall!

Lately I've had a lot of really good ideas to draw, and I'm really excited and writing them all down so I don't forget! I haven't been inspired or creative for a while, and when I would draw it felt sort of forced, but now I finally feel like it's coming back to me again! I guess with art everyone goes through a dry spell of no inspiration or good ideas.

Hey everyone! So, Today I was inspired by Pocahontas; not the Disney one but the real one. Most people know she's a real person, but just incase, I thought I'd get that out there! Anyway, ever since I was little I've loved Native Americans, My sister and I would play Native American girls all day outside, making bamboo things and smashing acorns. When I found out that on my mom's side, has Native American ancestors I was super excited! Obviously I don't look Native American but today I was inspired by how their hair and jewelry is. I didn't take many pictures but these were some of the best, ahha!

I loved this movie about Pocahontas, it was called "The New World" I loved it, it was so beautiful!

But let's face it, I was also inspired by the Disney one, (hence my necklace similarity) HAHA

So, lately I have not been doing much, just exercising everyday and eating less, haha! And the first two weeks I did this I lost about 6 lbs!!! which I'm really proud of, I'm trying to be more healthy and I'm getting closer to my summer goal :)

Other than that, I've just been hanging out and so... these following pictures are a few of my looks from these weeks!

These are just funny, because I was feeling like a mermaid in my sister's design! She made this amazing seashell looking dress that I LOVE!

And then just to make everyone melt from cuteness, here is an adorable boston terrier puppy!!!!! My boyfriend and I are in love with these, and we really want one, one day! hehe

Galaxy Nails

Hello!

If you want nails like below, then stick around, and I'll show you how easy and fun it is to do this! It's even easy for your less dominant hand!

What you will need:

* Sponge ( I'm using a makeup sponge applicator)
* Black or very dark nail polish
* Colors lighter than black, one a little darker than the other
*Clear nail polish or glitter (I ended up using glitter, not regular clear)
*Maybe more colors if you want, I ended up using a really light purple and green too!
*Also, paper to put the nail polish on

Step #1

Paint nails black and wait for it to get dry

Step #2

drop some of the nail polish onto the paper

Step #3

Dip sponge in darker color first (blue) and dap it on nail, more in the center

Here I put the purple but it wasn't light enough, so I used a lighter one, in the picture after this one!

Here you can see below I used the lighter on (in the back) and it looked better

Then I added some green for more dimension

Finally add the glitter polish or clear, but glitter is more fun ;)

So I got this skirt maybe a year ago, and I have not worn it yet, so... today I am finally wearing it! It's really tight and short, which I was sort of self conscious of but, oh well. Also I'm wearing it with my vintage chicken shirt hehe!

Lady Bug Nails

Hey everyone, I hope you are all doing great! Since it nice and summery, I thought I would do a summery nail "step by step" for you! I'm going to show you how I did my lady bug nails!

What you will need:
clear polish
white polish
black polish(and one with small nail brush, for details)
and red polish

Step # 1
Do 2 coats of red paint

Step # 2

paint a thick strip on tip of nails

Step # 3
Use thin nail brush to do thin line down the center of nail

Step # 4
Do little black dots on both sides

Step # 5
Put white dots for eyes

Step # 6 Put black on the white dots to finish eyes

And that's it! Mine are obviously not perfect, but it's fun to try, and I hope you guys try it too!

Hello everyone, please forgive me once again for my lack of blogging! I promise I have good excuses! I went to Chicago to visit my Grandad, I've decided not to attend CCA and it was a hard and confusing decision, so I spent a lot of these days figuring things out! Also this past weekend was my parent's anniversary, father's day, and my dad's birthday...literally one day after another!!! The only thing I was able to keep up with a little were my youtube videos, so hopefully that was enough to keep people interested in me still :( And during this past weekend I ate and made so much food I needed to recover, haha!

Anyway, These are some of the things Cyrous and I made this weekend!!!

This was a Jamie Oliver Recipe we made...super yummy

Then I made these deadly cookies for my dad for father's day! I tried one, and they were good but too much for me to be honest!

Then we made my dad's own recipe of enchiladas for their anniversary, and they turned out great! P.s. see that beer on the table that says "rolling rock"....well don't get it it's awful.

I was watching this series on BBC called Upstairs, Downstairs and I got obsessed with everything about it! The fashion, lighting, sets, even the female character's nail polish colors! It's set in the 1930's and it really made me re-fall in love with this time period all over again! Here are a few stills I could find from the series!

And of course I was already in love with Atonement, but this just made me love it even more!!!

I know The Edge of Love is not in the 30's but it's still part of my spring/summer inspiration!!!!

Hey guys! So lately the weather has been sort of annoying and I'm in that weird "in between" phase, where it's a little too cold to wear full on spring/summer clothes but not super cold either! Ugh, so I've been wearing really weird stuff lately, and dreaming of light summery clothes! So here are a few things I really want, and a few I'm planning on buying soon!

This American Apparel skirt, that I'm probably going to buy tomorrow! :) It's so cute, I can't wait to layer it over stuff, and it looks so dreamy and magical right?

Below is a pretty good picture of what I want, which is a dress that looks a lot like a slip! I couldn't really find a great image to show, so this one will do. There was another shot of this dress, and it's really long, which is what I want also. I really like the tiny strap!

Again, my obsession with upper arm cuffs! I don't know where to find an inexpensive one, that isn't cheap metal! Any suggestions?!!!!

I'm also thinking of getting this perfume from, L'Occitane, it's a citrus smell, which is really fresh and light! I wanted to switch up my perfume because I have Dior Cherie, which I really like but it's too musky for summer!

Okay, so I also want to get a skin toner, and I saw this one today and it looks and smells nice, but I have never bought a nice toner before so I'm not sure.

Because I also saw this one at Whole Foods and it seems good, and the reviews for both look good so I don't know!! I also really like the packaging, it's just glass, and it looks really cool haha!

  Hey guys! Sorry I haven't been on here for awhile, below is my "ashamed" face! I think I've been having troubles with this blog because I don't know what it has become anymore. I feel like I can't keep up with posting my everyday outfits, and to be honest, I don't think my clothes are that amazing to share! haha I feel like my blog is taking a new turn towards personal, everyday stuff + some extra stuff like fashion and makeup!

   I don't know maybe I'm wrong, let me know what you guys think! What posts do you like the most? I have a food blog, but I'm not sure it's working to have two blogs, maybe I'll just continue to post food on here too.....anyway, I just think this blog needs a change. In fact, I don't think I've ever really said what my blog is really about! So I guess it's better late than never to say now! ahha, well from now on my blog is going to be mostly about everything! I'm not going to define it, because I think that makes me stop posting and I feel limited.

Some of my Illustrations

So right now I'm going through the process of applying and transferring to an art school and I'm pretty excited and nervous! The following pieces are some that are going to be in my portfolio, and I'm feeling nervous about showing it, and I feel like it might not be good enough. But I know it's mostly because I'm nervous and thinking I'm not good enough for the school, but before I felt really confident!!!! I just need to calm down. Anyway, the first two I'm not very fond of because they are oil paint, and it's not really my forte, but I'm putting them in because it shows that I'm able to use other mediums! So anyway, I just thought I'd share these, even though I think I've shown these before but..oh well! Enjoy!

The following ones are all mostly colored pencil, pen/ink, and watercolor, and pencil

This one down here was a school project that is a copy of one of Leonardo Divinci's and we had to re-draw it and use coffee to paint, ink, and salt for texture.

Here's a little picture tutorial for luscious, smooth waves!

Step 1: I put these two products in my hair, because quite simply, they are amazing! You can use any styling cream that makes your hair shiny, and a thickening spray, for your roots.

Step 2: find some rollers! These are vintage ones in an adorable kitty bag, that my sister gave me for Christmas!!!

Find a nice brush too!

Step 3: Comb your hair through after you've put the products in!

Step 4: Part your hair to the side, for a retro look (P.S. the white flecks in my hair are from the styling cream, in case you were grossed out! HAHAHA)

Step 5: Start rolling pieces of hair, so that they turn under like the picture bellow ☟

Step 6: find a nice hairspray that you can comb through, this one is a nice one!! And spray all over rollers! And also when you take them out!

Step 7: Take rollers out and gently comb through with a flat brush, then tousle your hair

Et, Voila! You will have full, wavy and luscious waves in no time!

Now onto something else! I got a sephora gift card from my boyfriend's mom! And this is what I bought!!!

Hey everyone! I hope everyone had a great holiday, I know I did!!! So I have a lot of pictures and posts to share with you but first I had to show you my new camera I just bought with my Christmas money!!!! It's a Nikon Coolpix s6000 and I think I'm in love. My last camera was also a nikon coolpix but it was kind of old and not doing the job. So this bad boy is amazing to me, the up close shots are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!! Things I did this weekend (starting from Friday):

Friday, I woke up late, ate yummy chicken tortilla soup with Cyrous, from Whole Foods, Looked at stores and wished I had tons of money to buy, said "things", then we went to The yummiest Mexican place with my parents called Dona Tomas, then we stayed up late watching a movie called Lonesome Jim, and on Saturday woke up ate breakfast, then ate an omelette and tater tots with Cyrous, that we made, for lunch, then we did homework for really long, while it hailed SOOOO much outside, that we ran out in the cold just to see it, then we ordered Indian Food to go, I ate too much butter chicken, then I continued eating popcorn with peanut M&M's, and we watched Remember Me, and 28 Days Later, which is really scary, then Cyrous and I had a sleep over and when we woke up on Sunday we made a butt load of waffles, and then I went to Target and wandered around by myself for probably 2 hrs, then Whole foods to get dinner stuff.

THE END

I basically spent my whole weekend eating too much.

So, I've been wearing a lot of navy blue lately, and I didn't even realize until I uploaded these pictures and I almost couldn't tell which day was which! ahha. Makeup I use everyday

Everyone knows I love makeup... like A LOT! But I don't always go crazy everyday with my makeup, but sometimes I do. Well.... when I'm more low key and at school or just a boring day these are my essentials. Some of the following products change over time because I love trying new products but the actual makeup items are always the same. So here we go! I hope you enjoy!

This perfume is my favorite, I don't always wear perfume, because sometimes the smell is too much for some days. For an alternative, more low key smell I wear really nice smelling lotion instead when I'm not in the mood. The lotion I use is a Burt's Bees body lotion with a milk and honey scent.
This palette is from the Pixi makeup line from Target, and it's an all in one: blusher, bronzer, and highlighter, I also like mixing them all together for a nice shimmery glow!
I have used SO many mascaras, probably every drugstore brand possible! I can never really stick with one though. This L'Oreal telescopic mascara, I've used maybe twice and it's pretty good, I'd say one of the best. But when I need new mascara, I'll probably try another one when the time comes :)
I really like this M.A.C. concealer, and I'm almost out of it and curious if their other concealers are as good or better... if anyone knows, do tell!
The image of this is really tiny, sorry for that, I couldn't find a better one! But anyway a little trick that I do (and I'm not sure if it's considered a "trick" but it may be a little unusual) is I wear lip liner all over my lips and that's it, no lip gloss, lipstick, nothin. I think I like the fact that it stains and it's really matte. I use this Maybelline one in Pink 15, it's a tiny bit more pink than my natural lip color, so it almost looks natural! I recommend trying just liner for a change!
I basically wear liquid eyeliner everyday, I have been since I was 16, so for about 4, almost 5 years! I've also used quite a variety of them, and right now I'm using this one, which I'm not so sure about yet, I don't like the applicator tip, it's too wiggly and I feel like there is no control, but anyway, I love liquid, cat liner!

And finally I love using tinted moisturizers, because I hate too much foundation coverage! and I love this Sonia Kashuk one from Target, it's very sheer and illuminating!

Hello! I finally feel better, just a little cough now, but unfortunately, Cyrous caught it and he doesn't feel too great :( so it's another weekend of homework, pajamas, eating, and watching movies. Which I'm actually fine with haha!

I think it's safe to say that it's fall now...I hope. It's been so hot, but finally it's cold and rainy!!! This outfit below is from, I think, a few weeks ago and I forgot to post it haha! Anyway, I'm trying to be better about posting, especially my outfits, because sometimes I'll be wearing something really great, and by the end of the day I look disheveled and I didn't get an opportunity to take a good picture, so......I'm going to try and take pictures of my outfits in the morning, when I actually look presentable!

This weekend was awful because I caught a cold and I did nothing but sleep, cough, eat, watch movies, and do homework with Cyrous. Hopefully next weekend will be better!

So, here I am again apologizing for my absence. I've been busy with school, and really haven't had any inspiration for any posts, but I'll try to come up with some cool stuff! I promise! But here are a few little things I've been up to, honestly not super cool...haha. But anyway the picture below is of a calzone Cyrous and I made, it looks strange but I promise it's good.

Nail art, which is very cute but SUPER annoying on a daily basis. For example washing hair, anything involving your nails rubbing up against fabric, need I say more? So it only lasted two days before I freaked out and took it off. I know I sound really dramatic but you would too if you were wearing them! But I do love them because they're adorable!

Butter Chicken Yum

So, I know I just did a post... but I thought I'd show our yummy dinner Cyrous and I made a few nights ago. We made Butter chicken out of an Indian cookbook which we've used before and that was also good! Butter chicken is practically my favorite food, like seriously. So, we decided to make a homemade version that came out so delicious!!! It's not a typical orangey, colored one that you'd see in a restaurant, but it tastes amazing. I think there are different versions off it from different regions.

Anyway, we also had it with rice that Cyrous made. It's his Persian style rice with potatoes on the bottom of the pot that get crispy along with the rice(which is delicious).

Okay, below is a picture that Cyrous would maybe kill me over if I showed anyone, but it's too funny not to show. I have been begging him for months to let me gel his hair drastically to one side and parted down the middle. Well, he let me do both, and I have so many hilarious pictures, but I thought it would be cruel to post a picture that resembles Dwight Shrute . haha So here's a little glimpse! hahahha

Okay, so I know all of these pictures make me seem super obsessed with myself, and that's because I am.( but REALLY, I'm not, I promise) My mom made me this super adorable dress with mermaids on it, which are like one of my many favorite things. I know, you're probably thinking, "isn't she a little old for her mom to be making childish dresses, with mythical creatures on them?" and the answer is no. It is silly however that I can't sew, but I honestly don't think I would be good at it, so I leave it to the pro... my mom! Thanks mommy!!! So it seems it may become a tradition to go camping every summer with my boyfriend and my friend and her boyfriend! She has so much camping gear so it's really fun to go with her, we always have so much fun. This time we only went two days but it was still great!
